Saturn Devouring a Son, Rubens

It is a work of great realism, depicting the god Saturn, from Roman mythology and often assimilated with other Greek gods.
In the scene, the character is devouring one of his children, as he was informed that one of them would dethrone him, the only one who survived was Zeus, who indeed dethroned him in functions and importance. The version by Goya of the same title is known, although it does not demonstrate the expertise exhibited by Rubens.
