Also known as MFAH, it is one of the oldest cultural institutions in the United States, and the first in the state of Texas. It includes: galleries, art schools, gardens, libraries, and recreational areas.

With over 60,000 pieces in its permanent exhibition, MFAH has important works by American artists, but especially Europeans, with universal figures such as Picasso, Rubens, Goya, Cézanne, and Degas among many others.
